Halloween

This is my annual Halloween post. What does your family do about Halloween? Do you have a Fall Festival at your church? Do you trick or treat? or do you choose to do nothing? I always look forward to hearing your answers.

Do you feel like the Family's Post it Note?

It seems every day I'm reminding someone in my family to take something to school or make sure something gets done. I do believe I am a Human post it note. No wonder I can't ever remember anything, because too much is in my head for the rest of the family. Am I the only human post it note?

Children, Cell Phones, Texting

As our society becomes more and more tied to cell phones our children think they "need" to have a cell phone. So, here are my questions. Do your children have cell phones? If so, how old were they when they got their first phone? If your child has a phone do they have texting? Have you had problems with your children "sexting" - receiving or sending sexual pictures?
I have found parental peer pressure is just as harsh as teen peer pressure sometimes. As Christian Working Moms is there a difference?

CWM Bible Studies

Do you have a CWM Bible Study at your church or are you leading a Bible Study? Please share your experiences and what curriculum you are using. We can encourage one another.

Tips to make a Mom's Life easier

I thought we could share with one another tips you have for getting out of the door in the morning in a less frazzled way. Also, how do you handle dinners at night with soccer games, etc.? Right now I'm wondering how I'm going to do dinner when school starts. My son will have soccer practices and games. My daughter has Marching band practice. Will we even have time to eat? Can't wait to hear your tips.

Mom Experiences

What is the most unique thing you have experienced as a Mom and would only happen, because you are a Mom? For example, in my house right now I have 2 firebelly toads, a golden gecko, house lizard, and a Mountain horn dragon lizard. Absolutely, would not have happened if I didn't have a son who is really into reptiles. Can't wait to hear what you have to share.

When do your children return to school?

I know in different parts of the country, children go back to school at different times. This year we are starting two weeks later than normal due to school construction. So, we start September 1st. Normally, it is about the 3rd week in August. I have a feeling around mid August we all we be a little "crazy". When do your children return to school? Is that a sad or happy time for you?

Free weightloss website

I don't know about you, but I need to lose some weight. It definitely gets harder as you get older. I just found a really neat website, www.sparkpeople.com. The website is free and has tons of resources. You can enter what you eat during the day and it will calculate the calories, protetin, carbs, etc. Just the act of recording what you eat gets your attention. There is also exercise information. They have a site for teens as well. Just thought I would share that with my sisters in Christ. Feel free to add any tips you may have. One thing I noticed especially when I became a Mom is if my kids got a snack I needed one too, so that definitely puts on some of the pounds.

Just wondering how many of you are on Twitter and if you tweet? Did I use the right lingo? I'm debating about having Christian Working Mom on Twitter and then a Bible verse or a word of encouragement could be sent out. What do you think?

How can we use Michael Jackson's death as a way to introduce people to Christ? The reason I'm thinking about this is Michael Jackson had to be one of the wealthiest people in the world, yet money did not buy him happiness. We all know the true source of contentment and happiness. Please share your thoughts.

Job Opportunities

One CWM recently shared she lost her job. We discussed the possibility of being able to share job openings in our areas or people who are looking for jobs. I'm struggling with how to get this started. I think this is a great idea. I don't want people to get spammed with email. So, if you all have any ideas on how we could organize this please let me know. Do pray for our CWM sisters who have lost their jobs. Pray that God will guide them in their job search.
