Advice for new CWMs

I often get surveys from CWM who are either returning to the work force after years at home or just had a baby. Both feel tremendous guilt about working. If you could give advice to a new CWM what would it be?

How is your family doing in these tough times economically?

I really have two questions for my wise CWM sisters in Christ. One, what ways are you trying to save money in these tough economic times? I know every time I go to the grocery store it seems I pay more for less food. Second, is someone in your family out of work right now? If so, how are you coping and what things are you trying to do to encourage your family?

One thing I know for sure, as a therapist, we may try to hide hard times from our children but they always know something is going on. Difficult times are an excellent way to teach about God's sovereign control in our lives.

What life lessons is your family learning?

This past school year my family learned the important lesson of perseverance. My children just finished 7th and 11th grade. Both grades are really tough and we got through it. I think my children learn the importance lesson of sticking with things even when they are tough. What lessons is your family learning right now? Please share.

Families are really busy and sometimes we get too busy for fun. What does your family do for fun?

What are some of your prayers as a Mom?

Often as Moms it is hard to find time to pray. What are some of the things you pray about as a Mom, if you are willing to share?

How does your family reach out to others?

As parents children often observe us more than listen to our words. Does your family serve together some way in your church or community? If so, can you please share what you do?

Snow Week

I live in the Southeast and we have 7 to 9 inches of snow. We are not talking a snow day now, we are almost a snow week. 3 days and counting so far. We have enough food for now. So, what does your family like to do on snow days?
