Hello...I don't make New Years Resolutions. I used to when I was younger, but I never stuck to them. That was before I was born again. Now, I just let the Lord shape me and mold me into the Christian woman/mother/wife that he wants me to be. This is an ongoing process, each year is different. I just let the Lord do his work each year. Its not always smooth sailing, but I just keep going on.
Thank you.

Marianne had difficulty posting this comment, due to computer glitches. So, I'm posting it for her. I wanted to let people know about this book, "The Richest Man Who Ever Lived" by Steven F Scott. You can learn more about it at his web site: http://www.stevenfscott.com It is based on the Book of Proverbs, and is excellent for setting goals and achieving great things in your personal and professional life.

Anonymous, I love your post and you put into words things I have often thought. God has ordained our days and his resolutions may look very different than ours. Thanks for putting it so beautifully.

I stopped making New Year's Resolutions too. It's too much pressure to put on myself. But this year there are several things that I would like to do. We now have a reliable babysitter that we know that lives near us, so my husband and I will have more dates this year, starting tomorrow! :)
I'm also going to schedule a visit to the dentist (which I havent been to in years) I'm also going to buy a new pair of shoes that I need, and now that my husband is making more money, I can afford it.

This year I'm just going to do little stuff that I've been putting off for a long time. But no official weight loss goals! I've tried for years to loose weight without any success, so I'm not going to that kind of pressure myself anymore.

Lisa,

I love how you are planning dates for your marriage. We often neglect our marriages when we become parents. I right there with you on the weight loss thing. I did listen to a Tony Evans CD once and he talked about praying daily about what you eat and allowing the Holy Spirit to control your appetite as well. I have been trying that some this new year. I also don't like to exercise, so that doesn't help much. Appreciate you sharing and you are right it is not good to put pressure on ourselves.

That's a good idea. I've been praying for years for the Lord to help me loose weight, but not specifically that the Holy Spirit would control my appetite. I walk at lunch until it's too cold to go outside, but even walking for 30 minutes, enough to work up a light sweat, did nothing to help. I'm going to start up again, I know it always helps some, even if it's so I dont get so winded when I walk longer distances.

Thanks again for letting me ramble! :)

Lisa,

You are welcome to ramble anytime. I'm impressed with the walking. I need to do more of that. I guess I want quick, effective exercise. Maybe a pipe dream. Keep up updated.
