I am very lucky to work in an environment where I can freely share my faith. That being said, not everyone there is going to agree with my views on things, and I definitely wouldn't call it a Christian environment. However, I realize that this means I have a great opportunity to share the gospel with people every day. I have not been the best steward of this gift, and I know I need to focus on that more.
God has blessed me to work in a Christian environment. It is a blessing to be able to pray with my boss and fellow co-workers. We are marketed as a Christian company and have the opportunity to share Christ with our clients. I don't face the fear of getting into trouble for my faith, but am constantly learning how to love others like Jesus did. Christianity comes with it's own negative stereotypes we strive to overcome those with the love of Christ while still upholding our faith values.
I don't feel that I need to hide my faith at work, but rather be wise about how I share it. I try to let that sharing grow out of relationships I form with people at work, to the point where they are comfortable sharing their beliefs/ideas with me, and I have an opportunity to respond to that with respect and understanding, and also share what I believe and why. I've had some very good conversations recently with a co-worker who has some very negative stereotypes of Christians, and she has come to see why we believe certain things (sometimes we even agree; sometimes we agree to disagree!) I believe we need to develop those relationships first so that people can really see us living out our faith - otherwise, it doesn't have a lot of meaning for them. I try to be honest about my failings, as well. I also try not to have these conversations on work time - waiting for breaks, lunch, etc. - God will present appropriate opportunities.
I agree with the post that said one should be wise with how they share their faith in the workplace or anywhere for that matter. I want to share by setting an example first and foremost and then look for opportunities to share where I can make a true difference and not turn someone away. I pray that God shows me when and how to share so that I can lead someone to Christ.
