Is your work place Christian friendly?

I'm interested in what your work place is like. Are you the only Christian at your workplace or are there other believers? How comfortable are you shining Christ light in your workplace? Looking forward to what you have to share.

I work at a small family business (not my family) with several other Christians. Non-believers are the minority. We talk about church events but not much about the body of Christ. Even in this Christian friendly workplace, there is much room for Christian growth and encouragement.

Amy sounds like a great place to work. At least you are supported as a Christian.

I work in the social services field, which tends to draw more "liberal thinking" people, so Christians are in the minority. There are some Christians here, but they are few. Christians are "tolerated", as long as we are not too vocal about our views. I have been able to witness some to the people I work with, but I have had to wait to be asked about my views before I could speak freely. I do believe that God has placed me here, even though it might be a challenge at times. It is often in the darkest places that God's light shines the brightest!

Hi Melody~

Boy do I know what you are talking about. I used to work in Social Services. One place where I worked I felt like I was part of the diversity program - I was the Christian. You are absolutely right about God's light shines brightest in the dark. Keep being a shining light for Him. Thanks for sharing.

I teach in an academic setting - higher ed. Talk about liberal :)Actually, I don't have a problem with liberal, b/c I know lots of Christians who are liberal. But for the most part, I don't see them where I am working.

BTW, I didn't know that Social workers were typically liberal thinkers.

I know there is one other Christian - one of our administrative assistants. We talk some, but not much. I'm hoping to get our interested students involved in the Intervarsity Christian Fellowship - there are some Christian students.

I also don't vocalize much, but I think at least some of my colleagues know my views and beliefs.
