Tips to make a Mom's Life easier

I thought we could share with one another tips you have for getting out of the door in the morning in a less frazzled way. Also, how do you handle dinners at night with soccer games, etc.? Right now I'm wondering how I'm going to do dinner when school starts. My son will have soccer practices and games. My daughter has Marching band practice. Will we even have time to eat? Can't wait to hear your tips.

I've been wondering how we're going to handle this, as well. Depending on what time practice is, I'm thinking that I might:
a) bring a few sandwiches & apples to keep in the office fridge that day so they can eat in the car en route to practice; or
b) keep some non-perishable snacks on hand to eat en route and then have dinner when we get home from practice.

The crock pot really comes in handy on days like this! At least once we get home, we can just sit down & eat right away.

Hi Mama Bear,

I like the idea about sandwiches for the car. I do a lot of crock pot meals. I need to get some new recipes. I'm tired of the old ones. Thanks for sharing and I'm glad to know I'm not alone with the mad dash to practices.

I do a lot of crock pot recipes to save time too. I also pack the sandwiches for the car. Maybe we should all exchange crockpot recipes some time!

Melmj,

I have started a new post to share crock pot recipes. Looking forward to seeing what you have.

I admit, I am afraid to use a crock pot. I have this fear of a fire getting started. I don't like to leave anything on that is heated while I am gone. What do you think?

Hi Cheryl,

I have used a crock pot for years and left the house with it cooking. The only problem I had was I had an old crock pot and it did not cook at all one time, so I just had really gross uncooked food when I got home. Good excuse to get a new crockpot. No dangers with fires or anything. I love having dinner ready for me when I get home.
