We've just experienced three snow days in a row last week. Only one day was due to excess snow while the other two were due to below freezing temps [buses couldn't run].
Unfortunately due to the 30 below 0 temps, there wasn't much fun to be had out in the snow these days. Otherwise the boys would have spent time sledding and making forts. Instead the boys went to Nana and Papas to play lots of indoor games and watch plenty of movies with popcorn. They even built forts and had Hotwheel car races often.
Neither hubby or I got off work due to the weather, so we were very thankful the boys had their grandparents to play with during their days off.

How great that you had grandparents to help out. Do you live in Minnesota? I lived in Minnesota for 3 years and remember those -30 days and getting excited when we hit 0. Hope everything is back to normal. Thanks for sharing.
I live in North Carolina, and we just had a snow day last week! Like Kimberly in SC, those are few and far between for us. I just praised God, because it was such a perfect day. My husband who is a deputy happened to be off of work. I teach, so I didn't have to work, and we were able to enjoy the day with our little girls (ages 2 years and 8 months). It only snowed that morning, but the cold temperatures meant that the snow stayed around for a few days. We did everything you can imagine to do on a snowy day, from just playing snowball fights with Daddy, to making snow cream and of course building a snowman. It was such a blessed day. I loved it! That day actually made me thankful for my job, because I realized that I would always have snow days off with my children, and of course the summers. I have a lot to be thankful for. It is easy to get bogged down under stacks of papers to be graded or lesson plans to write, but God is good and he has promised that if I just seek him first, everything else will fall into place!

We didn't get our snow day. We were disappointed. Sounds like you all had a wonderful day. I remember how surprised I was to find out as a child that teachers wanted snow days just as much as the kids. Thanks for sharing.
Yes, we teacher like the snow days...as long as the makeup days don't start eating into our Spring Break!
