HELP!!!!! I am so confused about going back to work. I am PRN now after 10 months of full time work. I LOVE my job, and LOVE my family even more. We do not NEED my income to survive, but it would be a great help. I love helping others (I am a therapist for abused children), enjoy being very active in my children's school, and staying involved with church. I am affraid that going back to 20 hours per week would leave me with no time for ME. Between household responsibilities, childrens school committments, sports practices and games, home work, my work, and church, I will NO free mommy time. Is that selfish?? I just don't know what to do and my boss expects an answer tomorrow. Your input would be GREAT!!!

Anonymous,

I don't think your selfish not having me time, we all need it, but it can be hard to come by. I would certainly give it a lot of prayer. Also, whenever we say yes to something we are saying no to something else. That may be time alone for you. Are their any church or school committees that you could resign or do less work for? I would look at all you will be involved in and see what you can cut out. Also, what does your husband want? He can be a guide in your decision as well. You talked about staying active in church which I think is important. Sometimes though we are so busy in church we don't get time with God.
One more thing can you try this on a trial basis and then make changes in your schedule if it does not work? Just a thought. I always think it is important to pray for clear direction from God. Let us know what you decide.

I am looking for resources, and personal testimonies, of how a working christian woman can go from working outside the home to being home, whether she is making money at home or not.

Hi Tami,

Some women here at CWM have been in and out of the work force. There are several books about leaving the work force and staying home. I know Larry Burkett wrote one. I'm not sure if it is still in print.

Hello all - I just needed some advice from some other Moms. My son is 5 years old and is still wetting the bed at night. We have tried everything - even waking him in the middle of the night to go to the bathroom. He is in day care during the day and always seems thirsty at night, which of course does not help. Any ideas of things that have worked for you? Thanks in advance. :)
