Although my son is now 2 years old, I still remember what it was like bringing him home for the first time. What emotions of joy as well as dispair that surrounded me!

My advice to new moms is to make sure you are saturating yourself in God's presence with melodies that both you and the baby can enjoy. If you can't attend church services, try to listen to audios when you can. I know this is challenging so don't stress it.

Encourage your husband to take the Family Medical Leave Act (FMLA) or vacation time if FMLA is not available in order to help (dad) bond and assist you with the care of the baby. My husband did that and it was such a blessing to me and him. He really enjoyed being home.

Rely on your relatives and friends that are willing to help with household chores such as cooking and cleaning. I resisted help feeling that my son was my responsibility, but later came to the reality that as a first time mom the support was needed.

If you can stay home a while before returning to work, that is great! If not, be prayfull about what childcare alternatives. Allow the Holy Spirit to lead and guide you in your choices.

Last of all, but not least of all take each day one day at a time!

Hug them often, kiss them much and cherish each moment... I know even on your most "exhausting day", it may not seem like it... but... The saying is true-- they grow up so fast..
oh... and take LOTS of pictures!

Be organized

Have a routine and stick to it as much as possible

Be comfortable with your daycare and that may mean trying several out before you find a good one-those usually cost more

GET LOTS OF HELP-family, friends, church family, neighbors, Other Moms in your kids circle, etc and lose the Supermom notion because it nearly drove me mad

Sometimes the housework can wait and meals can be semi home made and its ok

Find a job you love and that makes it all a little easier
