What do you do to relax?
As CWM's we often have little time for ourselves. So, what do you do to relax? or maybe I should say, what would you do to relax if you could?

As a working mom with three children and a police officer husband, I take a book with me everywhere. I have very limited personal free time, so I read while sitting at the doctor's office, or while eating lunch (usually at my desk). It helps me exercise my mind - something that defines me as something other than a wife and mother.
My favorite is to sneak off and grab a starbucks and a pedicure...I never used to do things like that, but this last year I have made it about 3 times! It is wonderful! jenlon
I love reading books as well. Often, I will go out to lunch alone with a book. I think some people pity me for eating alone, but I think it is wonderful. Massages are great as well.
Isn't it funny when people "pity" you for being alone! Sometimes it is nice to have that time! LOL I'll grab lunch like that once in awhile and take a magazine or something that really requires no thinking!! ( I like Today's Christian Woman and BHG!)
I guess I'm kind of different. I'm not a person who needs a lot of alone time. In fact, the 15 or 20 minutes I spent driving to and from clients or my daughter's daycare are more than enough "alone time" for me. I like to spend time with friends to relax. There's nothing better than talking with one of my good friends over a really good cup of coffee. I also like sitting with friends around a campfire or hiking when the weather is nice.
I see my daughter on my lunch hour for at least a few minutes, but then I like to use at least a half hour to ski, walk, ride a bike, or run my little 3-dog team (I'm a musher). Time alone + exercise + outdoors = bliss.
I love driving time. I call my best friend or my mom and talk on the way to wherever we are headed. I have the radio in the backseat for the little one to sing along to and quiet in the front...or I sing with her!
Being the good multi-tasker that all Moms are I love talking to my Mom in the car on the way home. She lives in another state. You can have alot of good conversations in the car on the way to somewhere else. Love the singing in the car as well. I always wonder what people think when you are at a stoplight.
