How do you teach your children to be Thankful?

Thanksgiving is coming. As Christians every day should be Thanksgiving. We should daily praise and thank God for who He is and the many blessings he has given us. Most of all that we are thankful for the gift of salvation and that He drew us to Himself. Our world does not focus on thankfulness. So, please share some ways you help teach your children to be thankful.

Kimberly, thank you for posting the various sites in your newsletter. I am planning on giving all the kids some money this Christmas and have them choose a (some) causes/people to donate to. They will have to work together and agree together how they want to use it. So, I was really glad to see Samaritan's purse - love it! and didn't know about it.

We have started our evening prayers with thank you God for ___ years. My boys have thanked God for baseball, for our new baby, for candy,.. I have the best answers written down somewhere. Now that my oldest is a sophisticated almost 7, though, we need to figure out a reinvigoration of this prayer. Too many nights of thanking God for mommy, daddy, L, and J. I will look for other ways to model, too. Thank you for the reminder! I am grateful for believing so absolutely in gratitude.

Cheryl, my family loves Samaritan's Purse. We do Operation Christmas Child every year and it has become something to look forward to for my children.

Hi Anonymous, I agree sometimes are prayers can become routine and need a little change. I don't think we can ever be too thankful.

Thanks for sharing.
