When do you open Christmas presents?

There is a revolt going on in my house about when to open Christmas presents. We use to always open gifts from each other on Christmas Eve and Santa on Christmas day. Now the boys in my house want to open only one gift on Christmas Eve and the rest on Christmas day. The girls want to keep the tradition going. So, what do you do at your house?

We usually open one gift on Christmas Eve and then the rest on Christmas morning. However the gift opener doesn't get to choose their Christmas Eve gift, it is chosen by a family member. :)

Sometimes we allow one gift opened on the eve of Christmas, but usually we save everything for the day of as there are only 3 gifts each.

Love all these ideas. Seems 1 present Christmas Eve is the consensus.

When I used to work as a nurse, we opened them on Christmas Eve. Now it's just on Christmas.

We open everything on Christmas morning and then we make a huge breakfast feast.

I have a 19-year boy and girls 17 & 14. They revolt too that we don't open more gifts on Christmas Eve, but...I gently remind them that a family is never a democracy. We open gifts from each other (which translates to 1)on Christmas Eve and from Santa & others on Christmas morn. To keep Christ in Christmas, my husband started reading a Bible selection on Christmas Eve, followed by a Hallmark-type movie.

We open 1 gift on Christmas Eve and the rest on Christmas morning, but now that my DD are older we will open the rest of the gifts after breakfast on Christmas Day. But we all talk about who,why and what Jesus did for us and that's why we have Christmas.

Merry Christmas Everyone!! Steph

We only open on Christmas morning at our house, but we used to go to relatives on Christmas Eve and open there. My boys are 14, 18, and 22. Christmas was a lot more fun when they were little. Moms with little ones, enjoy!
